My Engagement Ring.

Hooray for my ring!  I absolutely love it.  Before we looked at any settings, the only thing I  knew was that I wanted an asscher-cut stone.  When we started really looking, I was instantly drawn to the halo settings.  They aren't flashy, and almost have a classic/antique feelings to them.  I was sold.  Then came the issue of height.  A lot of halo settings set the center stone higher then the halo - a feature I absolutely hated.  I'm not a big, flashy jewelry kind of girl, and I can only imagine how many things I would hit/cut/tear with a big ol' diamond floating on top of an already big setting.  Oh - and as a side note- I say "big" because I have ridiculously small hands, not because my fiance bought a million dollar ring.  Seriously.  My hands are about the size of a 3rd graders.

In September or October, we finally went to really look at rings and make some choices.  We weren't fully educated on all the C's (we'd done research, but still had no idea what it all meant) and we planned on asking as many questions as they'd allow.  We made an appointment at MERVIS DIAMOND IMPORTERS in Tyson's Corner and were off.  We met with Arnie, and he couldn't have been more helpful.  He definitely took his time and answered all of our questions.  He also introduced us to Ritani rings.  I fell in love with the Endless Love, asscher cut ring.

My Wedding Band.

Here is my ring again - but this is the only picture I could find with the wedding band in the picture as well.  Its just a simple, pave style band.  Right now, that's all I want.  We'll see if I find something else I like as the time to purchase gets closer.

FI's Wedding Band.

I don't have a picture, but we did order his wedding band.  It's palladium and pretty simple.  The metal is brushed and there is a little detail on the outer edges- it almost looks like a gear.  When I have the ring in my possession, I will take a picture.
